Õàáèá Áîðäæÿí — ëèíãâèñò, ñïåöèàëèçèðóþùèéñÿ íà èñòîðè÷åñêîé ëèíãâèñòèêå, ÿçûêîâîé äîêóìåíòàöèè, ôèëîëîãèè, äèàëåêòîëîãèè, à òàêæå íà èðàíñêèõ ÿçûêàõ è ëèòåðàòóðå.

Äåÿòåëüíîñòü

Õàáèá Áîðäæÿí âõîäèë â ñîñòàâ ñîâåòà ðåäàêòîðîâ Encyclopaedia Iranica, àêàäåìè÷åñêîãî ñïðàâî÷íèêà, ïîñâÿùåííîãî èçó÷åíèþ èðàíñêîé öèâèëèçàöèè íà Áëèæíåì Âîñòîêå, Êàâêàçå, â Öåíòðàëüíîé è Þæíîé Àçèè, è îõâàòûâàåò âñå àñïåêòû åå èñòîðèè è êóëüòóðû, à òàêæå ÿçûêîâ è ëèòåðàòóðû, âêëþ÷àÿ èðàíñêóþ, ñåìèòñêóþ, òþðêñêóþ è èíäèéñêóþ. Îí ðàáîòàë â ðåäàêöèîííîé êîëëåãèè íåñêîëüêèõ àêàäåìè÷åñêèõ æóðíàëîâ è ðàáîòàë çàìåñòèòåëåì ðåäàêòîðà æóðíàëà ïåðñèäñêèõ èññëåäîâàíèé. Íàó÷íàÿ äåÿòåëüíîñòü äîêòîðà Áîðäæÿíà íàñ÷èòûâàåò ìíîæåñòâî ñòàòåé â ðåöåíçèðóåìûõ æóðíàëàõ è îòðåäàêòèðîâàííûõ òîìàõ.  íàñòîÿùåå âðåìÿ îí çàíèìàåòñÿ ôèëîëîãèåé è ýòíîëèíãâèñòè÷åñêîé äîêóìåíòàöèåé.

Åãî àêàäåìè÷åñêàÿ ïîäãîòîâêà îõâàòûâàåò Êîëóìáèéñêèé óíèâåðñèòåò, Òåãåðàíñêèé óíèâåðñèòåò è Åðåâàíñêèé ãîñóäàðñòâåííûé óíèâåðñèòåò. Ä-ð Áîðäæÿí ðàáîòàë íàó÷íûì ñîòðóäíèêîì â Öåíòðå èðàíñêèõ èññëåäîâàíèé Êîëóìáèéñêîãî óíèâåðñèòåòà (2010-19 ãã.). Ïîñëåäíèå äåâÿòü ëåò îí âõîäèë â ñîâåò äèðåêòîðîâ Endangered Language Alliance, öåëüþ êîòîðîãî áûëî äîêóìåíòèðîâàíèå ðåäêèõ ÿçûêîâ, íà êîòîðûõ ãîâîðÿò èììèãðàíòñêèå îáùèíû â Áîëüøîì Íüþ-Éîðêå.

Ñ 2012 ãîäà îí òàêæå çàíèìàë äîëæíîñòü ñîäèðåêòîðà Áëèæíåâîñòî÷íîãî ðåãèîíà â ïðîåêòå «Èñ÷åçàþùèå ÿçûêè», ñîâìåñòíîì ïðîåêòå Google è Univ. Ãàâàéåâ, â êîòîðîé åãî ðàáîòà ñâÿçàíà ñ îïðåäåëåíèåì è êëàññèôèêàöèåé ÿçûêîâ, íà êîòîðûõ ãîâîðÿò â Àôãàíèñòàíå, Ïàêèñòàíå, Öåíòðàëüíîé Àçèè, íà Êàâêàçå, â Òóðöèè è Èðàíå. Âî âðåìÿ ñâîåãî ïðåáûâàíèÿ â Àññîöèàöèè ïî èçó÷åíèþ ïåðñèäñêèõ îáùåñòâ (2006-2012) Áîðäæÿí îðãàíèçîâûâàë è ïðåäñåäàòåëüñòâîâàë íà äâóõãîäè÷íûõ êîíôåðåíöèÿõ â Òáèëèñè, Ëàõîðå è Õàéäàðàáàäå.  2017–2019 ó÷åáíûõ ãîäàõ îí âõîäèë â ñîñòàâ êîìèòåòà Ñåíàòà ïî áèáëèîòåêàì Êîëóìáèéñêîãî óíèâåðñèòåòà.[2]
