Ôóíêöèè
ßâëÿåòñÿ òèðîçèíêèíàçîé, êîòîðàÿ äåéñòâóåò êàê ïîâåðõíîñòíûé ðåöåïòîð äëÿ ôàêòîðîâ ðîñòà ôèáðîáëàñòîâ è èãðàåò ðîëü â ðåãóëÿöèè êëåòî÷íîé ïðîëèôåðàöèè, äèôôåðåíöèðîâêå è ìèãðàöèè, à òàêæå â ðåãóëÿöèè ëèïèäíîãî ìåòàáîëèçìà, áèîñèíòåçà æåë÷íûõ êèñëîò, çàõâàòà êëåòêîé ãëþêîçû, ìåòàáîëèçìå âèòàìèíà D è ôîñôàòíîì ãîìåîñòàçèñå. FGFR4 íåîáõîäèì äëÿ ôèçèîëîãè÷åñêîãî ïîäàâëåíèÿ ýêñïðåññèè ôåðìåíòà CYP7A1, ëèìèòèðóþùåãî çâåíà â ñèíòåçå æåë÷íûõ êèñëîò, â îòâåò íà FGF19. Ôîñôîðèëèðóåò PLCG1 è FRS2. Ñâÿçûâàíèå ëèãàíäà ïðèâîäèò ê àêòèâàöèè íåñêîëüêèõ ñèãíàëüíûõ ïóòåé. Àêòèâàöèÿ PLCG1 ïðèâîäèò ê îáðàçîâàíèþ êëåòî÷íûõ ìåäèàòîðîâ äèàöèëãëèöåðèíà è èíîçèòîë-1,4,5-òðèôîñôàòà. Ôîñôîðèëèðîâàíèå FRS2 ïðèâîäèò ê ðåêðóòèðîâàíèþ GRB2, GAB1, PIK3R1 è SOS1, ÷òî, â ñâîþ î÷åðåäü, îïîñðåäóåò àêòèâàöèþ RAS, MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1 è MAP-êèíàçíîãî ñèãíàëüíîãî ïóòè, à òàêæå AKT1-çàâèñèìîãî ñèãíàëüíîãî ïóòè. Îïîñðåäóåò SRC-çàâèñèìîå ôîñôîðèëèðîâàíèå ìàòðè÷íîé ïðîòåàçû MMP14 è å¸ ëèçîñîìàëüíóþ äåãðàäàöèþ. Ðåãóëÿöèÿ FGFR4 îáåñïå÷èâàåòñÿ èíòåðíàëèçàöèåé ðåöåïòîðà è åãî ïîñëåäóþùåé äåãðàäàöèåé, ïðè÷¸ì ýòè ïðîöåññû àêòèâèðóþòñÿ ïîä äåéñòâèåì MMP14.
Âçàèìîäåéñòâèÿ
FGFR3 âçàèìîäåéñòâóåò ñ ôàêòîðàìè ðîñòà FGF1[5][6].

Ìóòàöèè ãåíà ñâÿçàíû ñ ïîâûøåííûì ðèñêîì ðàêà ïðåäñòàòåëüíîé æåëåçû, à òàêæå íåêîòîðûõ äðóãèõ ãèíåêîëîãè÷åñêèõ òèïàõ ðàêà[7].
