Metal Massacre — ñåðèÿ ñáîðíèêîâ, âûïóùåííûõ Metal Blade Records. Èçâåñòíû â ïåðâóþ î÷åðåäü ïîòîìó, ÷òî â ýòè ñáîðíèêè âõîäèëè ïåñíè ãðóïï, âïîñëåäñòâèè ñòàâøèõ âñåìèðíî çíàìåíèòûìè: Slayer, Metallica, Overkill, Trouble è äðóãèå.

Èñòîðèÿ

 1981 ãîäó Áðàéàí Ñëåéãåë[àíãë.], îñíîâàòåëü Metal Blade Records, ðåøèë èçäàòü ñáîðíèê, íà êîòîðîì áóäóò ïðåäñòàâëåíû «íåïîäïèñàííûå», òî åñòü íå èìåþùèå êîíòðàêòà ñ êàêèì-ëèáî ëåéáëîì, àíäåãðàóíäíûå ìåòàë-ãðóïïû. Íà ïðîòÿæåíèè 80-õ è 90-õ îí ïðîäîëæèë âûïóñêàòü íîâûå ñáîðíèêè äàííîé ñåðèè. Metal Massacre XII áûë âûïóùåí â 1995 ãîäó, ñòàâ ïîñëåäíèì âûïóñêîì â ñåðèè Metal Massacre, ïîêà íå âûøåë Metal Massacre XIII, âûïóùåííûé 11 ëåò ñïóñòÿ â 2006 ãîäó. Metal Massacre XIII îòëè÷àåòñÿ îò ïðåäûäóùèõ èçäàíèé, ãëàâíîé îñîáåííîñòüþ êîòîðûõ áûëà èìåííî «íåïîäïèñàííîñòü» ãðóïï, òåì, ÷òî â íåãî âîøëè ïåñíè óæå äîâîëüíî èçâåñòíûõ ãðóïï, ïîäïèñàííûõ íà Metal Blade.
