Omaliinae (ëàò.) — ïîäñåìåéñòâî æóêîâ-ñòàôèëèíèä. Âñòðå÷àþòñÿ ïîâñåìåñòíî, íî ãëàâíûì îáðàçîì, â Ãîëàðêòèêå.

Îïèñàíèå
Ìåëêèå êîðîòêîíàäêðûëûå æóêè, äëèíà òåëà îò 1,5 äî 6 ìì, òåëî íåñêîëüêî áîëåå øèðîêîå, ÷åì ó áîëüøèíñòâà ñòàëèíèä (Staphylinidae), ñ áîëåå äëèííûìè íàäêðûëüÿìè (ó íåêîòîðûõ äàæå äîõîäÿò äî êîíöà áðþøêà), ãîëîâà ñ øèðîêîé øååé, ëàïêè 5-÷ëåíèêîâûå. Ó áîëüøèíñòâà ïðåäñòàâèòåëåé ïàðà îöåëëèé â îñíîâàíèè ãîëîâû[1].
Áèîëîãèÿ
Ïèùåâûå ïðèâû÷êè ðàçíîîáðàçíû, õîòÿ ìíîãèå âèäû õèùíûå, êàê ëè÷èíêè, òàê è âçðîñëûå. Îáèòàþò â îïàâøèõ ëèñòüÿõ, ýêñêðåìåíòàõ, ïàäàëè, ìõàõ è ó âîäû, íà öâåòàõ, ïîä êîðîé ïîâàëåííûõ äåðåâüåâ, â ðàçëàãàþùèõñÿ ïëîäàõ è öâåòàõ (âîçìîæíî ñàïðîôàãè). Íåñêîëüêî âèäîâ æèâóò â ïåùåðàõ è â ãíåçäàõ ìåëêèõ ìëåêîïèòàþùèõ è ïòèö[2][3].
Ïàëåîíòîëîãèÿ
 èñêîïàåìîì ñîñòîÿíèè èçâåñòíî ñ ñåðåäèíû þðñêîãî ïåðèîäà.  ìåçîçîå áûëî íàéäåíî âîñåìü ðîäîâ, îòíîñÿùèõñÿ ê Omaliinae[4].
Ñèñòåìàòèêà
124 ðîäà è îêîëî 1400 âèäîâ[2]. Ñîãëàñíî Ëîóðåíñó è Íüþòîíó (Lawrence, Newton, 1995), âõîäèò â ñîñòàâ Omaliine-ãðóïïû ñåìåéñòâà Staphylinidae: Glypholomatinae, Microsilphinae, Omaliinae, Empelinae, Proteininae, Micropeplinae, Neophoninae, Dasycerinae, Protopselaphinae, Pselaphinae, Scydmaeninae[5].
 2020 ãîäó â ðåçóëüòàòå ìîëåêóëÿðíî-ôèëîãåíåòè÷åñêèõ èññëåäîâàíèé ìèòîõîíäðèàëüíûõ ãåíîìîâ íå âûÿâëåíà ìîíîôèëèÿ Omaliinae. Ïî ýòèì äàííûì ïîäñåìåéñòâî Empelinae äîëæíî áûòü âêëþ÷åíî â ñîñòàâ Omaliinae (èñêëþ÷àÿ Corneolabiini), â òî âðåìÿ êàê àíàëèç îáíàðóæèë âñå òðè ïðåäïîëàãàåìûõ ïîäñåìåéñòâà â ãðóïïå (Empelinae, Glypholomatinae è Microsilphinae), ñãðóïïèðîâàííûìè âíóòðè Omaliinae.  ïðåäåëàõ Omaliinae òðèáû Coryphiini è Eusphalerini áûëè ïîääåðæàíû êàê ìîíîôèëåòè÷åñêèå, òîãäà êàê Anthophagini è Omaliini ïîêàçàíû êàê íåìîíîôèëåòè÷åñêèå[6].
