Developer rsheldiii has ported Super Mario 64 to the Microsoft Zune HD, released in 2009. The game runs natively on the device without an emulator, supports sound and save files, and uses virtual touchscreen controls. It runs at full speed most of the time, although some scenes may experience slowdowns.
The port is based on sm64ex and uses the unofficial OpenZDK development toolkit. No firmware modification is required, but the game must be built on a computer running Linux with Docker and Git, then transferred to the player via USB. So far, the project has only been tested on firmware version 4.5.
