Ñóùåñòâóåò äâà ãåíà (FUT1 è FUT2), êîäèðóþùèå ãàëàêòîçèä-2-àëüôà-L-ôóêîçèëòðàíñôåðàçû, êîòîðûå ýêñïðåññèðîâàíû òêàíå-ñïåöèôè÷åñêèì îáðàçîì, ïðè÷¸ì ýêñïðåññèÿ FUT1 îãðàíè÷åíà êëåòêàìè ìåçîäåðìàëüíîãî, à FUT2 — ýíäîäåðìàëüíîãî ïðîèñõîæäåíèÿ.
