Èññèäû[1][2] (ëàò. Issidae) — ñåìåéñòâî ðàâíîêðûëûõ íàñåêîìûõ. Îêîëî 1000 âèäîâ[3]. Â èñêîïàåìîì ñîñòîÿíèè èçâåñòíî ñ ïàëåîöåíà[4].

Îïèñàíèå
Ñðåäíåé âåëè÷èíû (1,9 — 12,5 ìì), êîìïàêòíûå öèêàäîâûå ñ êîðîòêîé è øèðîêîé ãîëîâîé. Íîãè êîðîòêèå è êðåïêèå. Íàäêðûëüÿ êîðîòêèå. Íà ãîëîâå âûäåëÿþò îáëàñòü «ìåòîïå» (metope, ëîá) è òåìÿ (coryphe, áåç ñåíñîðíûõ ÿìîê). Ðàçâèâàþòñÿ íà êóñòàðíèêàõ è òðàâàõ. Äëÿ ÑÑÑÐ óêàçûâàëîñü äî 20 ðîäîâ è îêîëî 80 âèäà[5].  Ðîññèè — 21 âèä, â Çàïàäíîé Ïàëåàðêòèêå 51 ðîä ñ 404 âèäàìè[3]. Ìåëü÷àéøèé ïðåäñòàâèòåëü ñåìåéñòâà âèä Moro bloetei èìååò äëèíó îêîëî 2 ìì[6]
Êëàññèôèêàöèÿ
Îêîëî 1000 âèäîâ è 158 ðîäîâ[3]. Ñèñòåìàòèêà Issidae îñòàåòñÿ íåîïðåäåëåííîé.  ÷àñòíîñòè, Tonginae è Trienopinae âêëþ÷àþòñÿ â Acanaloniidae (Åìåëüÿíîâ, 1999) èëè Tropiduchidae (Ãíåçäèëîâ, 2007), â òî âðåìÿ êàê Caliscelinae âîçâîäÿò â ðàíã ñàìîñòîÿòåëüíîãî ñåìåéñòâà (Åìåëüÿíîâ, 1999).
